It is a trend for software developer to release free version (aka stripped down version) of their flagship commercial software application. We’ve seen the Powersuite Lite 2013 from Uniblue and System Mechanic Free 11 from iolo technologies. There are of course more of such cut-down version of software. This includes the recently released ACDSee Free.
ACDSee Free from ACD System Inc., is a simple to use photo image viewer for Windows that utilizes on ACDSee’s legendary viewing speed, to give you a blazing fast speed while viewing images. You could hardly experience any delay or waiting.
It provides a set of basic photo viewing features including the ability to view images in full screen, quickly scroll through images, zoom in and out, rotate photos, copy photos to different folders, save photos to another format, print photos and set your desired image as the desktop background.
The application supports 11 different image file formats including BMP, GIF, JPEG, PNG, TGA, TIFF, WBMP, PCX, PIC, WMF and EMF.
In the Windows Explorer, simply double-click on a photo to automatically display it in full screen. While in full screen, you can quickly scroll through all photos in a particular folder by using the left and right arrow keys.
As for printing options, you can choose the format, print multiple copies, and change the orientation of the photos. Also, you can add headers, footers, and captions.

P.S. : A fast-paced application to view images. Somehow lacks the tools to edit images.
