Leading Czech anti-virus vendor Avast has announced the availability of its 2014 range of security products (aka avast! 9) in mid last month. Avast’s range of new free and paid offerings include Avast Free Antivirus 2014, Avast Pro Antivirus 2014, Avast Internet Security 2014 and Avast Premier Antivirus. What changes that Avast brings to version 2014 this time? First of all, you shall notice an all-new interface, which looks much organized and appealing than the previous version. Additionally, the interface puts everything in the same place for both the free and paid product lines, making migration easier.
Avast promises improved performance and better protection to users in version 2014. Avast! 2014 now has even stronger protection with DeepScreen technology. This technology finds and clears away false code, misdirections and other malware techniques. There is a new “Hardened Mode” feature, which enables users switch on a whitelisting mode that blocks files from executing when it is unclear whether they are infected or not.
For the first time ever, users can create a bootable antivirus in the form of USB, CD or DVD, otherwise known as Rescue Disk. The bootable media can be used for offline scanning and cleaning infected systems.
Last but not least, Avast now offers Do Not Track function in its browser plugin. This technology protects online privacy by allowing you to opt out of online trackers. For paid Avast products, SafeZone provides additional security for financial transactions.
Avast 2014 products is compatible with Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, Vista and XP.
