You need a password for your email account, Facebook account, Twitter account, online banking account and all sort of other online accounts that you have. With so many passwords to remember, can you remember them all? Easy, just use one same password for all your online accounts. But you’re screwed if that password falls to the wrong hand. So it is recommended for you to use different passwords for each account.
Now, we’ve a problem here. How can we remember dozens of passwords? Simple, store your passwords in a password manager, then retrieve it when you need to. Pault Password Manager is such application. It enables you to securely store and manage your login credentials (username and password). The login data is stored in a single text file and is locked by a single master password. To make it even secure, the master password is encrypted by Pault.
On the first run, you need to specify a master password to continue. Note : The master password must be easily remembered by you, but hard to guess by others.
The application is a straight-forward one. All the options can be accessed from the top of the window. To add a new login data, simply hit the “Add New” button, then provides the description of the account, username/email and password.
As mentioned earlier, the login data is stored in a single text file. To eliminate the risk of losing your passwords, you can backup the passwords to a USB drive or online storage service. Hit the “Backup Passwords” option and specify a file name and destination to store the passwords. You may ask, is it secure? Don’t worry, nobody else will be able to open the file without your master password and a copy of Pault.
Pault is free for download and requires Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 to run. Compatible with Windows 7, Vista, XP and even Windows 8.
