vDrive is a lightweight and handy application that is designed to help you to easily mount any folder or directory in your computer as a virtual drive.
This application comes in handy especially when you regularly need to work with a particular folder. By simply mount the folder as a virtual drive, you can access the folder with ease.
To mount a folder as virtual drive, simply right-clicking on the folder of your choice to bring up the context menu, then select the “Map virtual drive” option.
A window will be displayed with several options that you can configure. You can specify the drive letter for the virtual drive, enter the label name for the drive and select the mapping options.
Under the mapping options, you can choose between permanent and temporary mapping. For permanent mapping, the mounted drive will not disappear when you restart your computer, while in temporary mapping, the mounted drive will no more exist when you restart your computer.
Click the “OK” button when you’re done. Now, you will see a new virtual drive mounted.
To unmount a virtual drive, right-click the virtual drive to bring up the context menu, then select the “Unmap virtual drive” option. And, the drive will disappear.
vDrive is compatible with Windows 7, Vista, 2003, XP and Windows 2000 operating systems.
