Last Tuesday, Google has unveiled the first Chrome OS laptop, called the Cr-48 (Chromium 48) Chrome notebook. As we know, the Cr-48 notebook is not (and will not be) available for consumers. Plus, it is still under experimental.
So through the Chrome OS Pilot Program, Google is distributing the Chrome OS notebook to 60,000 damn lucky chosen participants. As participants, they need to test out the Chrome OS and provide detailed feedback to Google. And did I mention they get to keep the Cr-48 notebook for themselves? 🙂
However, if you happen to be chosen by Google to participate in the pilot program, you will not be informed by Google as Google want to ambush you with a surprise package of the experimental Cr-48 notebook at your front doorstep. In other words, no one (except Google) know where the Chrome OS notebooks are headed to. So for those who have apply for the pilot program, you have to pray hard and hope that you are lucky to get the package delivered to your doorstep.
Or you can use this little web application to track the shipments of experimental Chrome OS notebook as they’re shipped out. Using the Cr-48 Shipping Tracker, you can find out where the Chrome OS notebooks are headed to. Also, check any Cr-48 notebooks that has been delivered to your area.
In the Cr-48 tracker page, enter your city and state (or zip code), then submit your search request. The tracker will return a list of shipments, the date shipped, an ETA or date delivered, and whether it was shipped ground or overnight.
If you find any shipment that is heading to your area, be sure to pray that the Cr-48 notebook is going to arrive at your doorstep, and not your next door neighbor. 🙂 Thanks, DownloadSquad!
