Samsung has announced on November 25 the successor to the Galaxy Grand mid-range smartphone – the Galaxy Grand 2. The device has a larger screen display, more RAM, features stitched faux leather back (same as in Galaxy Note 3) and runs Android 4.3. Read on for more details.

Hardware-wise, the Galaxy Grand 2 features a 5.25-inch HD display with 1280 x 720 resolution. The dual-sim device is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB worth of internal storage. Storage is expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. It has battery capacity of 2,600 mAh (up to 10 hours of playback and 17 hours of calls).

Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 sports an 8MP rear camera with auto-focus and LED flash. On its front is a 1.9MP camera. Other features include HSPA+, WiFi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS + Glonass and USB 2.0.

The device runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box and also comes preloaded with ChatON, Story Album, S Translator, Samsung Hub, Sound & Shot, S Travel, Group Play and Samsung Link.

No detail yet on the pricing and availability. As for the color variants, the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 will be offered in White, Black and Pink, with Pink is available only in selective regions.
