The all-new Internet Explorer 10 (or IE10) browser with more performance and developer capabilities, will come pre-installed in the upcoming Windows 8 when the new Windows OS goes on sale on October 26.
The browser is available on both the Windows 8 Start Screen (as Metro app) and also classic desktop. Thus far, Microsoft has been focusing the Windows 8 version of IE10.
However, IE10 is not exclusive to Windows 8 only because the browser is coming to Windows 7 too. Microsoft in a blog post said that they will provide a preview version of IE10 on Windows 7 in mid-November. The full stable version will follow without giving a time frame.
According to Rob Maurice, group program manager of Internet Explorer, IE10 on Windows 7 has the same standards based platform for developers to target as IE10 on Windows 8. IE10 brings improved real-world site performance and additional standards support to Windows 7 that Web developers have been asking for.
P.S. : Windows Vista and XP users, don’t even think about IE10. It’s not coming. 🙂
