In almost a month after the release of the Google Chrome 9 stable version, the Google Chrome team has released their latest stable version of Google Chome 10 (v10.0.648.127) browser for Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems on March 8.
The latest version of Google Chrome browser introduces the latest evolution of the V8 Javascript engine, Crankshaft, into the browser, which gives a major speed improvement in Javascript performance. In the Google’s V8 benchmark suite, the Chrome 10 was tested to run 66% faster than Chrome 9 .
Other updates from the previous stable release include features like :
- New settings interface with a search capability, that open in a tab
- Improved security with malware reporting and disabling outdated plugins by default
- Sandboxed Adobe Flash on Windows
- Password sync as part of Chrome Sync now enabled by default
- GPU Accelerated Video
- Background WebApps
- webNavigation extension API (experimental but ready for testing)
Google Chrome 10 Stable is compatible with Windows 7, Vista and XP, Mac and Linux operating systems.
