Microsoft Malaysia has announced on its official Facebook page that the company is set to launch the Surface Pro tablet to local market on Friday, June 7. Good, cos that’s more than 3 weeks ahead of the end-of-June dateline that the Redmond based company promised, back on April.
Now, it’s turn for the Windows 8-based Surface Pro tablet to make appearance in our shores, as the ARM-based Surface RT has been selling in Malaysia since the end of April for RM 1549 (32GB) and RM 1849 (64GB). At the moment, there is no detail on the pricing and where to buy the tablet. The details will be revealed when comes near to the launch date or latest, on the launch date itself.
In the US, the Surface Pro starts at USD 899 (RM 2,786) for 64GB model and USD 999 (RM 3095.90) for 128GB model. Both pricings do not include cover.
P.S. : Consumers in Japan will get the Surface Pro on June 7 too. Even better, in addition to 128GB model, Microsoft will ship a new, bigger storage of 256 GB ($1,175) to the people in that country. Other countries still stick with 64GB and 128 GB flavors.
