If you are currently using the “Betta Fish” boot screen (from Windows 8 Consumer Preview) on your Windows 7, it’s the time to change to new boot screen. With the release of Windows 8 Release Preview last week, users will find new boot screen with a clean and simple “Windows” logo in it, rather than the “betta” fish in the previous build.
The same person who created the “Betta Fish” boot screen for Windows 7, Vishal Gupta from AskVG has came out with the Windows 8 Release Preview boot screen. So what are you waiting for, let’s put the new boot screen on your Windows 7 now!
To apply the boot screen, first you need to download the “Windows 8 Release Preview” boot screen from this link. After download, extract the Windows_8_Release_Preview_Boot_Screen.bs7 file to any directory of your choice. Just make sure you remember where the file is.
Next, download the Windows 7 Boot Updater (skip this step if you already have it). It’s a free portable tool that enables you to change boot screen in Windows 7. After download, simply run the executable file.
In the main window of Windows 7 Boot Updater, click on “File -> Load boot skin…” option to open a browse dialog box. Locate the Windows_8_Release_Preview_Boot_Screen.bs7 file. Then, click on “Apply” button to apply the change.
Restart your system to see the new boot screen. 🙂
