Not long ago, I’ve shown you on how to disable all the application and quiz notifications from appearing on your Facebook wall. By using the Facebook Purity Greasemonkey script, you can remove all the messages published by the applications in Facebook. Somehow, this method is applicable only in Firefox browser.
How’s about Google Chrome users? Well, we have just the right Chrome extension to do the job. Facebook Application Blocker, as the name suggests, is an extension that allows you to block all the notification messages on Facebook that are published by applications.
After install, this extension will add an icon to the top left of Facebook page and automatically block any application notification messages. The small counter at the top of the icon tells you the number of application messages that have been blocked by the extension.
Clicking on the icon will reveal a box that enables you to configure several options, like block or show application messages and highlight application entries.
The extension also provides a whitelist so you can exclude certain applications from being blocked by the extension. In other words, you can allow certain application to publish messages on your Facebook wall.
To add an application to the whitelist, simply click at the “add to whitelist”-link at the end of the application message. But first, you need to set the filter settings from “block ’em” to “show ’em”.
Install Facebook Application Blocker Chrome extension to get rid of unimportant and annoying application notification messages.
