iMobie has released the latest version of its iOS maintenance and cleaning software for Windows and Mac. The PhoneClean tool which helps you cleanup and free up storage on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, now carries version 3.0.0.
The new PhoneClean 3 comes with a redesigned interface and offers more options than the previous versions. There are four buttons in the main interface : Quick Clean, Deep Clean, Toolbox and Restore.
The Quick Clean service enables you to clean up most types of junk files from your iDevice. This includes app caches, app temp files, download temp files, user storage files, app cookies, app crash logs, photo caches and iTunes radio history. According to the developer, new engines have been added to PhoneClean 3 resulting in deeper scanning and support deletion of more than 30 types of junk with over 20 analyzing technologies. During our test, PhoneClean 3 managed to free up 2.91GB of storage in our iPad. 🙂
Other than freeing up space, PhoneClean 3 now enables users to clear private data from iDevice. In fact, the privacy care service (placed under the Deep Clean button) is the major improvement in the software. The Deep Clean service promises to clear 10 type of private details, like call history, browsing history, Safari cookies and caches, messages and more. Before scanning, PhoneClean 3 will first back up your iDevice. This way you can always restore back to previous state if anything bad happens after running the Deep Clean service. Unfortunately, you can run the scan but not deletion, as you will need a pro version to do so.
Moving to the next feature is the Toolbox. It contains a set of handy tuning tools for cleaning up duplicated contacts, notes, calendars, apps, media and photos. There is a brand new Media Repair feature that helps you fix the corrupt and partially synced music, video and other media files, and makes them playable again on your iDevice. If your iDevice is jailbroken, you can run System Clean and App Shrink (reduce app size by removing unnecessary files) features.
PhoneClean 3 is free for download and is compatible on Windows 8, Windows 7, Vista and XP as well as Mac OS X 10.7, 10.8 and 10.9. It works on all generation of iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
