Top security software vendor Kaspersky has made available of first public beta versions of its upcoming Kaspersky 2014 security applications – Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2014 and Kaspersky Internet Security 2014.
The Technical Preview (that’s what Kaspersky called their first beta versions) of both security applications comes with a new, clean and simplified interface. Yes, the look and feel does matches the Windows 8.
Besides the revamped interface, the 2014 versions support for touch screens on Windows 8 system. The Safe Money technology (a feature that Kaspersky introduced to their 2013 line of products to protect online purchases) now supports more banks and web store, plus you are allowed to run the feature on your preferred browser.
Besides that, there is support for the Connected Standby technology in Windows 8. Connected Standby enables the system to stay reachable and up-to-date when it is not in use (the display is off); it is a low-power state of the device, designed to improve battery life by reducing computer processing when the system is not in use.
Thus far, these are (hopefully) some of the features that Kaspersky has revealed. Hope to hear more new features coming.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2014 and Internet Security 2014 are compatible with Windows 8, Windows 7, Vista and XP. Both products are free for 30 days during beta-testing.
