Microsoft has released the latest version of its Bing Desktop application for Windows. Bing Desktop now carries version 1.2 comes with several new features and improvements. Read on for more details.
First up, you shall notice a newly added (and familiar) tab to the application. Yes, it’s the Facebook tab. The Bing Desktop now comes with Facebook integration, meaning that you can check your Facebook’s news feed and friends’ photos directly from Bing Desktop. You don’t need to fire up browser. 🙂
Next, besides performing search from the search bar in Bing Desktop, you can minimize the search bar to Windows Taskbar as a toolbar or set a keyboard shortcut to launch the search bar immediately. In addition to that, you can minimize search bar to system tray.
On the personalization features, Microsoft introduces a few new settings including the ability to choose which recent homepage image you would like displayed as your desktop wallpaper, control of your search history, the choice of whether Bing Desktop loads when Windows starts and more.
Bing Desktop works on Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and Windows Server 2008 and 2012 for English, French, German, Chinese and Japanese.
