Add Windows 8 User Profile Image to Windows 7 Taskbar1 min read

One of the improvements that is most probably make it into the Windows 8 is the Windows Live integration on the taskbar. The updated taskbar will include the Windows Live ID login and once you have successfully logged into your Windows Live account, your Windows Live’s profile image will appear in the bottom right of the taskbar.

Over Deviantart, inspired by the mentioned feature, one developer who has created an application, called the Taskbar UserTile, that brings your user profile to the Windows 7’s taskbar.

The application requires no installation. Simply run the UserTile executable file and the your user profile will be automatically added to the bottom right of the taskbar.

Click on the profile image and a menu appears which allows you to access the control panel, change your profile image, log off, switch users and also to lock the computer.

The application is in alpha testing and may contains bugs. So please use this application at your own risk.
