We are less than three weeks away to witness the launch event of the next-generation Windows operating system – the tablet-friendly Windows 8. The event is scheduled to take place in New York City on October 25. The new OS will be available for purchase the following day after the launch event.
Thus far, we knew that for users who purchase a new Windows 7 PC between June 2, 2012 and January 31, 2013, are eligible to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro for just $14.99. Meanwhile, it costs $40 to upgrade for users that runs existing Windows 7, Vista or XP on their computers.
How much it will cost if you are to buy the Windows 8 Pro outright? Well, if the leaked information from pc-tablet.com is to be believed, the professional edition of the new Windows 8 should be priced at $188.

The pricing could turn out to be real or otherwise. So please take the information above with a pinch of salt. 🙂
