Facebook has rolled out a new and “smarter” version of its news feed yesterday. Now, all your news (top stories and recent posts) is shown in the same column with the top (or most interesting) stories featured at the top. On top of that, a new ticker column is added to the right corner of your main Facebook page, just above the chat bar. It shows real-time activities from your Facebook’s friends.
Honestly, I don’t like both the new designed news feed and the ticker column. And many users should find that the ticker is annoying and make Facebook page looks cluttered. Anyhow, Facebook doesn’t provide us with the option to hide or turn off the ticker feature.
But, fret not. If you are using the Google Chrome browser, there is an extension that can help you get rid of the ticker column. Called the Facebook Ticker Killer, you just need to install the extension, then refresh your Facebook page.
Voila, the ticker column is now gone! Peace of mind. 🙂
