Out of the many reasons that Facebook users prefer not to use the new Facebook photo theater viewer mode and choose to switch back to old classic photo viewer, one of them must be the difficultly to save the images to your computer when you’re in the theater viewer.
When you right-click a photo to display the context menu, there is no option that to save the image to computer. There is no option that enables you to display the image individually in new tab either.
Facebook Image Link is an extension for the Google Chrome web browser that adds new context menu options to the new Facebook photo viewer.
When you’re in the new Facebook photo viewer, a right-click on a page will display the context menu with three additional options under the Facebook Image Link. They are :
- Open Image URL to open the photo in a new tab in the browser.
- Show Image URL to display an alert that reveals the web address of the photo.
- Show High Res Image URL to display an alert but for the high resolution version of the photo if available on Facebook.
If you decided to stick with the new Facebook photo viewer, the Facebook Image Link chrome extension is a must-have extension then. It gives you the feature to copy photo web addresses and display photos in new tabs. Thanks, ghacks!
