Facebook News Feed gets a new look

Facebook has just unveiled a brand new look for its News Feed. The News Feed is now more visually appealing with less clutter than ever, gives users the option to choose the type of feeds to read and you get to see the same new News Feed design across all devices. Read on for details.

Facebook News Feed gets a new look

The social networking giant tackled a few visual aspects in the News Feed. Photos, news articles, maps and events all look brighter and more beautiful. Photos appear larger, check-ins to places now show larger maps and if there are multiple people sharing the same post on Facebook, you can quickly know who they are as Facebook now puts their profile image to the left of the post.

Other than the visual aspects, Facebook offers you choice of new feeds to read in addition to the current News Feed.

  • All Friends – a feed that shows you everything your friends are sharing
  • Photos – a feed with nothing but photos from your friends and the Pages you like
  • Music – a feed with posts about the music you listen to
  • Following – a feed with the latest news from the Pages you like and the people you follow.

Last but not least, you can see the same new News Feed design wherever you use Facebook – be it on your mobile, tablet or web.  For example, the left-hand menu is accessible anywhere you go on Facebook (even on web version). You also have a way to jump right to the top of News Feed whenever new stories come in.

Now, when can you see the new News Feed design on your Facebook page? According to Facebook, they will roll out the new design slowly over the coming weeks on web and mobile.

If you want to get the new design before others, visit www.facebook.com/newsfeed and put yourself in the waiting list. No idea how long, but you just wait, yes wait for the good news. 🙂
