Automatically Send Birthday Messages to Your Friends in Facebook [Chrome Extension]2 min read

Earlier I have mentioned about an interesting free apps for Android – called the Birthday Scheduler for FB. The apps enables you to schedule future birthday messages to be posted automatically on your Facebook friends’ walls on their birthday, directly from your Android device.

Today, I’ve found a similar application, actually it’s an extension for Google Chrome (Yes, now you can use the functionality on desktop too).

HappyBirthday is an extension for Chrome browser that enables you to automatically send birthday messages to your Facebook friends’ walls on their birthdays.

After install, the extension will reside next to the omnibox (chrome’s address bar). Every time you start Google Chrome, HappyBirthday extension will seamlessly check your Facebook account for birthdays.

If a friend of yours happens to celebrate his/her birthday on the same day the extension is loaded, your birthday message will be automatically sent to your friend’s wall.

The message is chosen randomly from a preset list or you can add your own birthday messages. Right-click the HappyBirthday icon, then choose Options to access the Settings page.

As I’ve mentioned, the extension will send birthday messages to your Facebook friends when the birthday date matches the date you load the extension. If you load Google Chrome (that should load the extension as well) every two days or worse, once a week, imagine how many birthday messages that are not delivered.

So that’s why there is an option where you can set the extension to look back on a predefined range of days and send all those undelivered birthday messages (given the birthday dates are still within the predefined range).

The extension will display the number count of birthday messages sent for that particular day. You can check on the messages sent by clicking on the HappyBirthday’s icon.
