I am totally not aware that the WordPress app for Android was updated to version 1.5 (now 1.5.1) at the end of September. I am hoping that I am not too late to write on this piece of Android app. 🙂
As you may already know, WordPress for Android app enables you to write and edit posts/pages, moderate comments and view your WordPress blog traffic stat on the go. In the latest version, the developer has added a new feature to the app, that allows you to read other blogs within the app itself.
You should now notice a new Read button at the bottom of your blogs list, if you’ve connected one of your WordPress.com blogs with the app.
Clicking it will display all the latest posts published on the blogs that you follow (on WordPress.com), along with the option to like or reblog them. You can even follow blogs and sites that aren’t on WordPress.com, as long as they have an RSS feed. For more content (from the blogs that you’re not following) that you might like, you can browse for articles by category or check out today’s Freshly Pressed.
Other than that, the new version include some bug fixes and the video upload is now using the HTML5 video tag instead of the outdated QuickTime tag.
For more information, please read the official article on the update.
WordPress for Android is a free download for Android phones, available in the Android Market.
P.S. : The developer is now working on version 2.0 which will give the app new look and many awesome features. By the way, version 2.0 Beta is now available for download.
