Samsung’s fourth generation Galaxy S smartphone has gone on sale in Malaysia earlier today. For our market, Samsung Malaysia is selling the 16GB non-LTE version of Samsung I9500 Galaxy S4, featuring a 1.6GHz Octa-core processor. The smartphone comes with a price tag of RM 2,199.

Samsung Malaysia takes a different approach to Galaxy S4 product launch this year. There is no special media launch event. Instead there are roadshows held at various places nationwide by our four major telcos including Maxis, Celcom, DiGi and U Mobile. Yes, the smartphone is available from all these telcos the very same day.
The public launch event took place at Lowyat Plaza, Kuala Lumpur with the appearance of local celebrities – Awal Ashaari and Liyana Jasmay. As we were nearby the launch venue, so decided to visit the Samsung concept store in the plaza for a quick hands-on.
