Previously available only in a few countries or on Android Go devices, the Google Go search app is now available to Android users worldwide. Interested users can head over to Google Play to give the app a try on their devices.
At just 7MB in size, the Google Go app is not only perfect for smartphones that are running low on storage space but also saves you bandwidth. According to Google, the search results are optimized to save up to 40% of data! The slow or unstable connection wouldn’t be able to stop you from finding information on the web this time. 🙂
Some of the notable features of this lightweight search app are the ability to read, translate and search the words you see by using your camera. With Lens in Google Go, you simply point your camera at any text to hear the words read out loud to you, translate them or search for it. Moreover, you can use the app’s read-out-loud feature to listen on any webpage.
The lite version of the Google app has more to offer. Voice Search lets you perform searches using your voice. Tap the Discover button to explore the latest trending queries and topics. Other than that, there are dedicated Images and GIFs buttons to help you find and share images and animated greetings with ease. Moreover, you can quickly access your favorite apps and websites directly from the app.
In the Settings, you can set a wallpaper for the app, choose a second language for Search as well as toggle on Lite mode to save more data.
Google Go is now available on the Google Play Store globally for all Android devices running Lollipop and above.
