Look like ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 isn’t alone today as the Taiwanese company also announced the successor to the original budget-friendly MeMO Pad (read our review here) – the new MeMO Pad HD 7.
MeMO Pad HD 7 features a 7-inch HD IPS display with 1280 x 800 resolution and 170 degree wide viewing angles. The tablet is powered by an ARM Cortex A7 quad-core processor with 1GB of memory and storage option of 8GB or 16GB. There is a microSD card slot to expand the storage. 16GB of free one-year ASUS WebStorage is also included.
The tablet measures at 10.8 mm thick, weighs 302g and has a lithium polymer battery that can lasts the tablet for up to 10 hours.
Other features include a 1.2MP front-facing HD camera, a 5MP rear camera (optional) and a micro-USB socket. The tablet runs a rather old Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Hopefully ASUS updates the OS to Android 4.2 before the tablet goes on sale.
Pricing and Availability
ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 retails at US$ 129 for 8GB model and US$149 for 16GB model. The tablet which is available in four flavors (black, white, pink and green), will start shipping in July 2013. The 8GB model is aimed at emerging markets, while the 16GB model is headed to the US and elsewhere.
