After the launch of ZenFone 4 in Malaysia last month, it’s just a matter of time to see ASUS ZenFone 5 and 6 start appearing on the shelves. Today, ASUS Malaysia has announced the availability of ZenFone 5 for local market. The device is now selling at retail stores nationwide at retail price of RM 599. As for ZenFone 6 availability, you need to wait a little longer. 🙂

Hardware-wise, the ZenFone 5 features a 5-inch 720p HD IPS panel with 294PPI and is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 with anti-finger coating. It is powered by a 1.6Ghz Intel Atom Z2560 processor with Intel Hyper Threading Technology. It has 2GB of RAM and built-in storage size of 8GB. The storage is expandable up to 64GB with a microSD card. There is a 5GB free lifetime ASUS WebStorage.

The budget-friendly smartphone sports a 8MP rear PixelMaster camera with auto focus, F/2.0 aperture and 5-elements lens. The PixelMaster’s Low Light mode increases light sensitivity up to 400%, which produces brighter photo and video. On its front is a 2MP camera with F/2.4 aperture.
