Microsoft Surface RT tablet went on sale in Singapore last week on April 5. The ARM-based Windows RT tablet and its accessories are now selling at Challenger stores throughout the country. Pro version is not available though.
As for the pricing, the 32GB Surface RT is selling at SGD 668 apiece, meanwhile it costs SGD 798 for 64GB version. Microsoft offers discounts when you bundle the tablet together with Touch Cover keyboard for SGD 798 (32GB) and SGD 938 (64GB). The keyboard can be bought separately for SGD 168 apiece, meanwhile the Type Cover costs SGD 183.
After Singapore, Malaysia could the next Southeast Asian country to launch the Surface RT (don’t even think about Pro version) to local market. According to Lowyat.net, the launch event will take place on Thursday, April 25 and will then be available at selected retailers on the launch date. No word on the pricing. Hopefully, Surface RT’s prices wouldn’t differ much from the pricing in Singapore.
