After HTC Sensation XE, HTC has unveiled their second only Android smartphone to emerge from the collaboration between HTC and Beats Audio – codenamed Sensation XL (previously Runnymede).
Looking at the specs, HTC Sensation XL features a massive 4.7-inch WVGA Super LCD screen display (480×800 pixels) with sleek 9.9 mm exquisite and dust proof aluminium uni-body design, runs a single-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm processor with 768 MB of RAM and a huge 16GB of internal phone storage (up to 12.64GB of usable storage). Unfortunately, the storage cannot be expandable with a microSD card. 🙁
The Android smartphone runs Gingerbread 2.3 OS with HTC Sense 3.5 overlay. It packs 1,600 mAh battery.
In the camera department, Sensation XL carries 8-megapixel rear camera, packs with F/2.2 lens, 28mm wide-angle lens, dual LED flash, and BSI sensor, which gives you a better low-light captures and wide angle shots. In video mode, the camera can record HD movie at 720p resolution. On the front, Sensation XL has a 1.3MP camera for video calling.
The audio quality is perhaps the main selling point of Sensation XL. The smartphone is bundled with a pair of custom-made Beats by Dr. Dre headphones (called urBeats) to provide music lovers with a better audio experience. Once plugged in, the phone will automatically switch to a custom Beats sound profile that delivers fuller bass, crisper vocals, and a new level of clarity and range, according to HTC. There is a remote control too, which allows you to play, pause, advance through tracks, answer and end calls.
The HTC Sensation XE will be available in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa in early November. In EMEA, HTC will also be offering a limited edition bundle that includes special edition Beats Solo headphones. No details on the pricing yet.
