HTC Corporation has confirmed that the Taiwanese mobile maker has teamed up with Dropbox (a popular cloud space provider), to offer 5GB of free cloud storage to HTC smartphones with the new Sense 3.5 UI overlay. That means the recently announced female-oriented HTC Rhyme smartphone will be the first smartphone to enjoy the free 5GB Dropbox cloud storage.
FYI, Dropbox is available as application for iOS, Blackberry and Android, which gives users 2GB of free data storage. Through the HTC – Dropbox partnership, HTC users can enjoy an additional of 3GB data storage, which totaled up with the 2GB storage to become 5GB of free cloud data storage. Using Dropbox, users can save files and photos from their phones to Dropbox, and automatically synced them across various devices like desktop PC and laptop.
However, keep in mind that the feature will available only to Sense 3.5 UI based smartphones. At that moment, HTC hasn’t confirmed whether older HTC smartphones will get the new Sense 3.5 update to enjoy the Dropbox feature. Thanks, Pocket-lint!
