Galaxy Nexus and Ice Cream Sandwich OS Launch Delayed1 min read

Samsung and Google have released a statement yesterday saying that they have decided to delay the launch of the much-anticipated Galaxy Nexus (a.k.a Nexus Prime) and the latest Android mobile operating system, the Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS), which is expected to take place in Samsung Unpacked mobile event on October 11.

Now, “Something BIG is coming” later! 🙁 New launch date and venue remain unknown.

Here is the announcement sent out by Samsung and Google :

Samsung and Google decide to postpone the new product announcement at CTIA Fall. We agree that it is just not the right time to announce a new product. New date and venue will be shortly announced.

According to CNET UK, a Samsung spokesperson they spoke to, said that the Galaxy Nexus launch has been delayed due to Steve Jobs’s death on October 5.

We believe this is not the right time to announce a new product as the world expresses tribute to Steve Jobs’s passing. We do not have information on the rescheduling of the event.
