The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Android Honeycomb tablet was announced at CES 2011, back in January and officially launched on March 30, 2011. It landed in Malaysia in May this year. Now, ASUS is ready to roll out the next generation of ASUS Transformer Android tablet. 🙂
During the AsiaD conference (in Hong Kong), ASUS Chairman, Jonney Shih, has given us the first look of the ASUS Transformer 2 or Transformer Prime and revealed some specs details of the tablet.
The next generation Transformer tablet will be powered by the first NVIDIA Kal-El quad-core processor with the same 10.1-inch screen display and a detachable docking keyboard. It also features USB, mini-HDMI ports, and SD card slots with 8.3mm thickness. As for battery life, ASUS claims that a single charge will last the tablet for 14.5 hours of working time. On top of that, the Tranformer Prime is expected to run the Ice Cream Sandwich (Android OS 4.0).
Here’s a few live pictures from the event.
At the meantime, check out the teaser video, if you haven’t already watch it.
For more details (complete specs and pricing), we’ll have to wait until ASUS makes a formal announcement on the tablet on November 9. Thanks, AllThingsD!
