Catcha Group and Evolution Media Capital are proud to launch its Internet TV service to consumers in Southeast Asia region. Called the iflix (has no relation with netflix), the internet streaming media is available (for a start) to two markets – Malaysia and the Philippines.
The service offers unlimited access to over 10,000 hours of TV shows and movies (Western, Asian and local content), at a monthly subscription fee of RM 10. Annual subscription is priced at RM 96 or RM 8 per month (a 20% discount to normal rate).
iflix allows subscribers to access the internet streaming media on up to 5 devices (phone, tablet, laptop, PC, connected TV or other connected device). Moreover, you simultaneously watch different content on two different devices at the same time for each subscription.
A free 14-day trial is available to those interested. No credit card or payment details is required to sign up for the free trial, but you do need to give out your phone number.
P.S. : Content is quite limited with lacks of latest TV shows and movies. Many content do not have subtitles. From the FAQ page, we learnt that iflix is working on offering the ability to download content for offline viewing.
