In less than 4 hours time, Santa Claus will start his journey delivering Christmas gifts to all the good kids around the world. For those who are interested to track Santa Claus and his reindeer on Christmas Eve, you can count on Google’s Santa Tracker. The new and improved Santa tracking system doesn’t just enable you to follow Santa on Google Earth, but also Google Maps.
While we’ve been tracking Santa since 2004 with Google Earth, this year a team of dedicated Google Maps engineers built a new route algorithm to chart Santa’s journey around the world on Christmas Eve. On his sleigh, arguably the fastest airborne vehicle in the world, Santa whips from city to city delivering presents to millions of homes.
You can begin tracking Santa at 2 a.m. PST (that’s 6 p.m. the time in Malaysia) on Google Earth and Google Maps. Also, Santa’s stats will be available in real-time at Santa’s Dashboard here.
There’s a Chrome extension to keep track of Santa’s journey on Chrome browser, or for Android users, there is an app for it. To get the latest updates on his trip, follow Google Maps on Google+, Facebook and Twitter.
Besides tracking Santa on Christmas Eve, you can also try out three simple games on Santa Dashboard including Santa Racer, Present Drop and Elf’s Jetpack. Last but not least, you can create a personalized phone call or message from Santa to your friend, kid or any family member.
