Do you have any idea on how much money that Americans spend on the Valentine’s day every year? Actually, they spend approximately $13 billion dollar per year to celebrate Valentine’s day, in which $367 million is spent on buying gifts for pets!
And despite uncertain economic, most Americans will spend about the same amount of money this year as they did last. This is what we have learnt from a recent press release by PriceGrabber.
In this article, we have an infographic, named “The Cost of LOVE“. The infographic is created by the people over Online Accounting Degree, which revealed that on average, each one will spend $120 on Valentine’s day gifts. Data also shows the break down of the Valentine’s day gifts, with greeting card sits as the most common and popular gift that people receive on Valentine’s day.
We also learnt a few fun facts such as the condom sales are 20% to 30% on the Valentine’s day and 15% of women will send themselves flowers (?) on the Valentine’s day.
