Earlier this month, the people from Kaspersky Lab has detected the first ever malware in Apple’s App Store. The application is called “Find and Call” and is available on both App Store and Google Play Store. Anyhow, the one and only malware in App Store is nothing to compare with Google Play. The amount of malicious applications (or malware) on Google Play is showing a significant growth of late.
According to the recently-released infographic, Behind the Android Manace : Malicious Apps, from Trend Micro, the security software has detected a total of 25,000 malware targeted at Android devices in Q2 2012. There were only 6000 of them in Q1 2012 and 1000 pieces in Q4 2011. By the end of year 2012, Trend Micro has predicts that there will be more than 129k of malware apps detected on Google Play, that’s five times more malware than in Q2 2012!

The most famous of all is the premium service abuser.
