Would you pay £6,700 or approximately RM 33k for a smartphone? Well, if you are wealthy and are fond of luxury gadgets, why not?
Luxury smartphone maker Vertu has just launched its first ever Android smartphone – called Vertu Ti. The £6,700 smartphone sports a 3.7-inch sapphire crystal screen, at which according to the British company, is virtually scratch-proof and 4 times stronger than other smartphones. Its body is crafted from Grade 5 Titanium and is handmade from 184 parts in England by a single craftsman.
The phone is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core processor with 64GB of internal memory and 1GB of RAM, plus 1250mAh battery. Vertu Ti has a 8MP rear camera (capable of shooting 1080p HD video) and 1.3MP front-facing camera for video calling. It runs on rather old Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and lacks crucial features like 4G LTE connectivity. It has NFC though.
Other notable feature of Vertu Ti is the new Vertu Key. It’s a button on the side of the smartphone, which provides instant access to call the 24/7 concierge service from wherever you may be in the world.
