Samsung Galaxy Camera to Launch in Malaysia on November 281 min read

Samsung Galaxy Camera

Samsung’s first Android-powered point-and-shoot digital camera – the Galaxy Camera with touch-screen capability, is on track to hit Malaysia really soon. And the launch event is scheduled to take place on this Wednesday, November 28.

Samsung Galaxy Camera

Hardware-wise, Galaxy Camera sports a 4.77-inch HD Super clear touch display with resolution at 1280 x 740 and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2. It is powered by a 1.4GHz Samsung Exynos quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory (expandable via microSD slot).

Moving to the camera department, the Galaxy Camera features 16.3-megapixels CMOS sensor, along with 21x optical zoom and a 23mm lens for wide angle shots. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean mobile OS and comes with two models. One that supports Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity, while the other features LTE and Wi-Fi.

Can you use Galaxy Camera as a smartphone, yes, to make calls? Nope. It’s just a digital camera that runs on Android.

Pricing and availability are still kept in the dark, at least until the launch event. Galaxy Camera is selling for $499 in the US. So the camera should be priced around RM 1600 to RM 1800 in Malaysia. That’s just our wild guess.

Anyway, please stay tune with us as we will bring the latest updates on Galaxy Camera once we get hold of some concrete details.
