Apple iPad will set for international launch on May 28 in nine countries, including Australia, Canada, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. The device will go on sale in nine more countries in July. These countries include Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore.
Although Apple iPad is not going to reach our shore in Malaysia in the nearest time 🙁 , but Maxis has taken a surprise move by becoming the first to launch micro-SIM in Malaysia, which enables Malaysian users to enjoy Apple iPad 3G and other next generation of smart devices in Malaysia.
The micro-SIM can be purchased by just walking into any of 31 available Maxis centres nationwide.
The micro-SIM from Maxis may be used with both Mobile Data and Broadband plans. Customers may sign up for an Enhanced Mobile Data Plan at the following prices:
- RM58 for 500MB
- RM78 for 1.5GB
- RM88 for 3GB
Meanwhile, Maxis Broadband customers may sign up for the following plans (promotion ends 31 May) :
- RM48 for 1.5GB
- RM68 for 3GB
- RM98 for 6GB
With the introduction of mico-SIM in Malaysia, let’s hope Apple doesn’t make us Malaysians wait too long to get our hands on Apple iPad. 🙂 Else, you can get Apple iPad from our neighboring country, Singapore in July.
