Google has announced the latest lineup of its Chrome OS-based laptop. Introducing the new ultraportable Samsung Chromebook, optimized for the web under the Google Chrome OS with access to handful of Google built-in apps. Interestingly, it comes with an attractive price tag of only $249 (approx. RM 760).
The new 11.6-inch Samsung Chromebook at 1366 x 768 resolution, runs on Samsung Exynos 5 dual-core ARM (fanless) processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB worth of internal storage. Well, 16GB may sound too little for a laptop. That’s why Google throws in another 100GB of free Google Drive cloud storage for 2 years.
Moreover, it’s convenient to bring Samsung Chromebook around as it is thin and light. It weighs less than 2.5 pounds (or 1.13kg) and measuring at a mere of 0.8 inches thick. In addition to that, users can get more than 6.5 hours of battery life. Samsung Chromebook boots in under 10 seconds and supports 1080p video playback.
Other features include built-in dual band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, Bluetooth 3.0, a HDMI port and a VGA camera.
