FUJITSU LAUNCHES GO GREEN CAMPAIGN ACROSS PENINSULAR MALAYSIA
Spearheading Environmental Sustainability for Malaysia with Trade-in and Disposal Initiatives
MALAYSIA, 30 July 2013 – Fujitsu, leading provider of ICT based business solutions and global advocate for environmental awareness, launched its latest Go Green Campaign across Peninsular Malaysia in its effort to promote awareness on technological waste and environmental sustainability. Partnering with major IT retailers across the nation, Fujitsu provides consumers the option of trading in old laptops, desktops, printers, monitors and mobile batteries for rebates on brand new Fujitsu selected laptops in the Klang Valley and Penang.
“Fujitsu has been practicing product recycling activities since 1998 and Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific Malaysia is now extending it to Malaysian consumers besides the green technology that is implemented into the products they purchase,” said Yap Hui Hui, Country Manager of Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. “Malaysia, unlike most developed countries, holds great potential in IT growth and Malaysians no longer carry a single device with them throughout the day. The launch of this campaign is to provide a platform for Malaysians to take part in sustaining the environment by trading in their old unused devices. This campaign is important to create that awareness on technological waste disposal as Malaysia is heading towards a developed country status that will be equipped with a full IT infrastructure and ecosystem. Fujitsu is currently working with 11 partners to create drop-off point locations for consumers for the trade-in programme with us spearheading the campaign. We are also looking an extension of this campaign and more consumers opting for our green products through this trade-in offer as a continuation.”
Fujitsu in its past green efforts, has also established and continuously supported up to this day, the ‘Fujitsu Group Malaysia Eco-Forest Park’ in Sabah, where over 10,000 employees of Fujitsu raised funds and rallied volunteers in support of the forestation work to restore the tropical rainforests in Borneo.
