In conjunction with the release of the Windows 8.1 update by Microsoft, ASUS Malaysia has announced the availability of the ASUS Transformer Book T100 at local tech stores and resellers nationwide for retail price of RM 1,299 (32GB model). The new Windows 8.1 tablet / laptop hybrid device is now on sale starting today, October 18.
To recap, the ASUS Transformer Book T100 features a 1.33 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Bay Trail-TZ3740 processor and a 10.1-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768 and wide 178-degree viewing angles. The tablet / laptop hybrid comes with 2GB of RAM and two choices of storage sizes – 32GB or 64GB.
It has a front-facing camera of 1.2 MP, but no rear camera though. On the tablet, there is a micro-USB port, a micro-HDMI port, a microSD card reader as well as a 3.5 mm audio jack. A USB 3.0 port can be found on the detachable keyboard dock. The device can runs up to 11 hours with a 31Whr battery.
