ASUS has added a new member to its Padfone series of smartphone and tablet combo. Introducing the Padfone mini – a smaller alternative to the existing Padfone Infinity. The device was unveiled in Taiwan earlier today.
The Padfone mini features a 4.3-inch screen display with 960 x 540 resolution. The smartphone is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon MSM8226 processor with 1GB of RAM and internal storage of 16GB. There is a microSD slot for expansion. The battery capacity measures at 1,500 mAh. Meanwhile the tablet dock has a 7-inch screen with resolution of 1280 x 800 and a 2,200 mAh battery.
The Padfone mini has 8MP camera, runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and is a dual-sim smartphone. It offers a few special tweaks like the Hi-Light “Owl Mode” and high speed continuous shooting in the camera.
Pricing and Availability
No idea on the availability yet. As for the pricing, the Asus Padfone mini will cost 11,990 NTD (around $405) in Taiwan. The Taiwanese company plans to release the device in China, Russia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Indonesia. May hit the US too. Available colors are white, black and pink.
