Last Thursday, ASUS Malaysia has announced the availability of the newly redesigned Fonepad 7 dual SIM (FE170CG) to local market. The prices start from RM 499.
First and foremost, the new Fonepad is easier to held in one hand, as the Taiwanese company has decided to trim the device’s width to just 11 cm across with narrow bezel design. The device comes with a variety of color options and features the brand new ZenUI interface.
Hardware-wise, the device sports a 7-inch LED backlight WSVGA screen with 1024 x 600 resolution and anti-fingerprint coating. It is powered by a 1.2Ghz Intel Atom Z2520 processor with Intel Hyper Threading Technology. The device has 1GB of RAM with storage size of 4GB or 8GB. The storage can be expandable up to 64GB with a microSD card. There is a 16GB worth of free ASUS WebStorage for 1 year.
Fonepad 7 has a 2MP rear camera with auto-focus and 720p video recording and a 0.3MP front-facing camera. Both cameras feature f/2.8 aperture lenses. Other features include built-in 3G with HSPA+ mobile data, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, a front speaker with ASUS SonicMaster technology, dual SIM feature, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (4.4 KitKat upgradable) and a 3950mAh battery with up to 10 hours battery life.
