Besides the Nexus 7 tablet, Google also announced a ball-sized sphere device which works as a cloud-based streaming media player. Introducing the Nexus Q.
The Nexus Q enables you to stream media like music, TV shows, movies and videos, from Google Play and Youtube apps on your Android device directly from the cloud to Nexus Q. Then, Nexus Q will play the media on the big screen (HDTV) in your living room. There’s nothing wrong with Nexus Q, just that the media player is currently limited to Android phone or tablet. No other device can configure and control Nexus Q, other than Android devices.
This is the front look. The top LED enables you to mute the sound with a single tap on it. I love the glowing light that surrounds Nexus Q. It looks cool, right?
And the look from behind with all the connectors and ports including micro HDMI, TOSLink optical audio, ethernet (RJ45), micro AB USB and banana jack speaker outputs.
Here’s a introductory video on Nexus Q.

How’s the pricing? Well, many wouldn’t like the pricing, including us. At $299, the Nexus Q is simply too expensive. Many will think twice to get the media player. As for availability, the device will hit the stores in Mid-July. Available for pre-order via Google Play.
