Close’n Forget is a free add-on for your Firefox browser that gives you the ability to ‘forget’ about a particular web site or blog you have visited. This extension will automatically erase all entries related to that site including cookie and history, when you close the tab that containing the particular site.
This extension is useful especially when you only want to remove the traces of certain sites, but don’t want to wipe out all cookie and history on your Firefox browser. Don’t tell me that you don’t have any browsing activities that you don’t want other people to find out.
Close’n Forget is simple to use. After installing the extension, you need to find the tiny red X button in the toolbar customization panel (View > Toolbar > Customize ).
Next, drag out the button to your desire place on your browser. I’ve placed the button between the address bar and the search bar.
If you don’t want your browser to keep the cookie and history of a particular site that you’re browsing, just click on the X button when you want to leave the site. Or you can select the “Close and erase cookies for the current site” option from the right-click context menu.
By default, Close’n Forget remove only the site’s cookies and history. For more options, you can check out Close’n Forget options. You can set to remove current site ( whole site domain e.g. www.sitename.com ) from browser’s history. You can also set it to remove cookies not only from the web page that you’ve closed, but also on all subdomains ( e.g. subdomain.sitename.com ).
