Facebook has rolled out its newest feature for Android and iOS users. It’s called the Photo Sync. What is it, exactly? Well, read on to find out.
This Photo Sync is a feature that enables you to automatically upload and save the photos on your mobile device to a private album (called Synced from Phone) on Facebook. It’s like taking backup of your phone’s photos and keep a copy of the photos on Facebook.
As the album is private on the social networking site, no one can view the synced photos unless you choose to share all or a selection of the photos.
How to set up Photo Sync?
The feature is disabled by default. To enable Photo Sync, run the Facebook app on your Android or iOS device, then tap to open the sidebar menu, look for Photos and tap on it. You should notice a Synced tab at the bottom right of the screen. Tap on it, then on the next screen, tap on the Sync Photos button.
Now the photos on your phone will automatically sync over 3G or Wi-Fi network. You can choose the syncing preference in the Settings. There seem to be no limitation on the number of photos that can be synced to the private album, but the size of synced photos combined must not exceed 2GB. Also, there is an option to stop photo syncing in the Settings.
Now, you can view the private album on your Facebook page. In the Photos, you should notice a new Synced From Phone tab. You can find all the synced photos inside. If you want to share the photos, go ahead and check the photos.
