The latest WordPress version 2.9 is finally here! And I’ve updated My Tech Quest to the 2.9 version just a moment ago. 🙂
WordPress 2.9 brings in cool stuffs like the Built-in image editor allows you to crop, edit, rotate, flip, and scale your images directly from your blog.
Other cool new features are :
- Global undo/”trash” feature, which means that if you accidentally delete a post or comment you can bring it back from the Trash.
- Batch plugin update and compatibility checking, which allows you to update multiple plugins at once, instead of having to do multiple clicks for each one. Plus, the new compatibility data from the plugins directory, gives you a better idea of whether your plugins are compatible with new releases of WordPress.
- Easier video embeds that allow you to just paste a URL on its own line and have it magically turn it into the proper embed code, with Oembed support for YouTube, Daily Motion, Blip.tv, Flickr, Hulu, Viddler, Qik, Revision3, Scribd, Google Video, Photobucket, PollDaddy, and WordPress.tv (and more in the next release).
- and many more! (Learn more in WordPress 2.9 release post)
To upgrade to the latest version, from your Dashboard, go to Tools > Upgrade, or you can download from WordPress.org.
