iPad was officially launched on April 3 and in less than a week after the launch, Apple has announced that its next big event, the iPhone OS 4.0 event will take place on 8 April at 10:00 Pacific Time at the Town Hall on Apple’s Cupertino campus. In the event, the invited media and press will get a sneak peek of the fourth generation of the iPhone operating system.
While waiting for what Apple will announce at the media event later today, let’s take a look at the features to expect in iPhone OS 4.0. GigaOM has listed out 6 features.
- Multitasking – One of the most wanted features is the ability to perform multi-tasking and run multiple applications simultaneously on iPhone.
- Higher resolution – Many new handsets at the same price point offer generous 800×480 (or better) displays over the iPhone’s 480×320 screen. So it’s about time for Apple to support higher resolution.
- Support for a second camera – Maybe we can see a second, front-facing camera for video chatting in iPhone OS 4.0.
- A unified inbox – iPhone 4.0 should have one inbox where all of email from all of the user accounts is delievered
- Enhanced voice-to-text features
- Music in the clouds – storing content in the cloud offers nearly limitless capacity to hold media.
Or do you expect any other features to be included in iPhone OS 4.0?
