Wow, we just couldn’t believe our eyes when Apple unveiled the fourth-generation iPad tablet in the iPad Mini event. We dare to say that many of you didn’t expect Apple to release the refreshed 9.7-inch iPad tablet so soon, right?
To recap, the fourth-generation iPad with Retina Display packs new A6X processor with quad-core graphics. It delivers twice the CPU and graphics performance of the older A5X chip in the third-gen iPad. In addition, the 9.7-inch tablet also gets dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi, expanded LTE compatibility, a 720p FaceTime camera on the front, a new image processor and a Lightning port.
Hey Apple, the third generation iPad (or the new iPad) has just made its debut earlier this year or March 7 to be exact. Remember?
With the release of iPad with Retina Display (the official name for fourth generation iPad), the 3rd gen new iPad that you are currently holding is now obsolete after only a mere seven months in the market.
Wow, this makes the new iPad the fastest device to turn old in the history of Apple. FYI, every Apple product should have a least one year of product cycle, but now this is no longer the case.
And the even “Good” news is that Apple has even removed the new iPad from its Apple Store Online. There’s the new iPad Mini, iPad 2, alongside with the iPad with Retina Display (aka 4th gen iPad).
Ask us if we are upset? Yes we are because we now own a no-longer new iPad. 🙁 Well, it’s not as painful as those who bought the third-gen iPad days or weeks before the launch of the fourth-gen iPad. Ouch!
However, we heard that some Apple Stores will exchange your newly-purchase third-gen iPad for fourth-gen iPad if purchased within the last 30 days.
