A few days back, we already heard about the next generation iPad that was rumored to start shipping as early as the end of February 2011, with initial shipments to reach 400,000-600,000 units.
Now, we have another rumor on what could be (with high possibility) a new feature of the iPad 2. Reuters reported last Friday that sources claim the upcoming iPad 2 will feature dual cameras (similar to iPhone 4), one in the front facing for video chatting and the other is a back-mounted camera.
If the dual cameras is for real, this should confirm that the iPad 2 is capable of running FaceTime video chat (a feature currently available to iPhone 4). Other possible feature is an SD card slot.
The images of the new iPad cases below suggests that iPad 2 may sport both a rear-facing camera and an SD card slot.
Also, we have report from component suppliers for Apple’s iPad that could begin a new round of iPad production as early as the first quarter of 2011. Other reports from sources close to Apple’s Asian-based component suppliers have also predicted a Q1 2011 production date for the next-gen iPad. Thanks, Engadget and Appleinsider!
