Apple iPhone 4S was officially unveiled on October 4 and available for pre-order since last Friday, October 7. Despite the uninspiring iPhone 4S upgrade, Apple has announced that they has managed to beat its previous single day pre-order record (600,000 units held by iPhone 4), to sell 1 million units of iPhone 4S in the first day of pre-orders. 🙂
Come this October 14, 0ther than the US release, iPhone 4S will also hit the market in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and the UK. Apple has confirmed that its latest iPhone will be available at all 245 Apple retail stores in the US on Friday (October 14), beginning at 8 a.m.
For every iPhone 4S purchase at the Apple retail store, you will get a free Personal Setup service, where you’ll get assistance to set up email on iPhone 4S, get a glance on new apps from the App Store and more.
On the tech specs, iPhone 4S comes with several hardware improvements including the dual-core A5 chip for better graphics and performance ; an 8-megapixel camera with a backside illuminated CMOS sensor for better low-light performance and capable of recording 1080p video ; a new antenna design with a dual-mode GSM and CMDA radio, which enables users to switch between two antennas to improve call quality and download data more quickly ; and Siri, an intelligent assistant that takes commands from you to make phone calls, send messages, schedule meetings, set reminders, and more.
On top of that, the iPhone 4S comes with new iOS 5 pre-installed, with over 200 new features.
By the end of October, the iPhone 4S will land on 22 more countries including Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
